Kidnapped Daughter Found, Mother Still at Large

Jul 16, 2015 - 6:50am

This morning Megan Mullock, who was kidnapped by her mother, Elizabeth Merideth Murphy, DOB: 4/28/65, walked into the Arvada Police Department safe and unharmed.

Elizabeth Murphy contacted law enforcement after seeing her photo on several social media sites, stating that she had her daughter and made arrangements to bring her to the closest law enforcement agency.  Megan walked in to the Arvada Police Department alone and Ms. Murphy is still at large.

Ms. Murphy continues to evade law enforcement.  She is aware she has two felony warrants out for her arrest including Kidnapping and Violation of a Custody Order.  She is believed to be in a safe house somewhere in the Denver Metro Area.

Ms. Murphy's photo is attached to this Media Release.  If anyone has seen her or has any information as to her whereabouts, please contact Detective Lisa Kaiser at 719-390-5555.

Our deepest appreciation is extended to the Arvada Police Department for their cooperation.  The importance of inter-agency collaboration cannot be overstated.
