Sheriff’s Office Announces New Communication Resources

Dec 31, 2014 - 10:00am

Today, more than ever, it is vitally important to keep lines of communication open between Law Enforcement and the members of the community we serve. As the ability to obtain information from differing areas is increased, it can become challenging for Law Enforcement to figure out the best way to interact with our residents.

Especially now, our public has to know that we, as your Sheriff’s Office are not just faceless automatons, but members of the communities we serve. We are mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, husbands and wives, sisters and brothers. This is our community too.

To that end, as the New Year dawns, Sheriff Bill Elder and the members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office are proud to announce the complete revamping of our online communication resources. Rather than try to be on every platform, we have chosen to concentrate on Facebook and Twitter as well as our own website. Links are below.
The Sheriff’s Office strongly supports the exchange of information and welcomes questions and debate; however, as our Facebook page and Twitter feed are both open to the public of all ages, we do ask that it remain family-friendly. To that end, profane or pornographic content will be removed.

As always, we remind our community to call 911 if you have an emergency, as that will ensure the fastest response.
